NCCCC raises money throughout the year to donate to local charities. Since we are a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, donations to our club are tax deductible.
Our Community Service chair arranges for a featured charity at each general meeting, and members may choose to donate items that the selected organization needs.
Opportunities for members to volunteer are arranged when possible at various times during the year.
We presented $1,250 checks to each of five charities: A Haven, Brandywine Valley Active Aging, City Gate Mission, Community Volunteers in Medicine, and Good Works, Inc. Representatives from the charities attended our Cook Off and Give Back dinner meeting. Additional donations were made to other charities throughout the year.
We were able to donate $1,000 to each of five charities: Meals on Wheels, Chester County Food Bank, Lord’s Pantry, Brandywine Valley Active Aging (formerly Coatesville Senior Center and Downingtown Senior Center) and A Haven.
We were able to send $1,000 checks to each of eight charities: ARC of Chester County, Community Volunteers in Medicine Inc., Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, Home of the Sparrow, Lord's Pantry, Meals on Wheels of Chester County, and St. Joseph's House.
Our donations were limited because we had to cancel Bingo during the Pandemic. We were able to send $1,000 checks to each of five charities: Handi-crafters, Domestic Violence of Chester County, Chester County Food Bank, Coatesville Senior Center, and ARC of Chester County.
NCCCC was able to donate over $17,000 to Chester County charities. Our biggest fundraiser was a Bingo game. At our May Cook Off and Give Back meeting, checks were presented to representatives of the charities selected by the Board and the Fundraising Committee. Members attending the meeting supplied food to participate in a Cook Off or paid a $10 fee. Members and guests enjoyed amazing appetizers, main dishes, side dishes & salads, and desserts. Newcomers voted on favorite entries, and Cook Off winners received gift cards. Our major charity recipients for 2019 were: Coatesville Area Senior Center, CYWA, Gateway Shelter, Good Works, Home of the Sparrow, The House - Phoenixville Area Women’s Outreach, Lord’s Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Chester County SPCA - Brandywine Valley, and Wings for Success.
